Blocking windows with cars should deny zombies entry through them. As long as the car is close enough to the wall they won't be able to path to the window. They may be able to crawl under cars but that's useless if they can't get up. Nope, you can barricade doors/windows even with hammer/planks/nails in a bag/backpack/whatever. The character will authomatically put them in their inventory and then proceed to barricade.
