From my experience, if your potential recruits list is empty, then you seem to have a greater chance of getting a new recruit when completing a challenge log item, and the chance goes down the more that are waiting in the list. With an empty list and a squadron recruit manual, it seems to be a 100% rate for finding a new recruit.Squadron members do more DPS than players, I think? That +60% damage from Offensive tactics goes a long way. The lack of AOE is an issue but, well, Shadow Flare and Emerald Carbuncle do a good job.Flagged Mission: Crystal Recovery. There are three levels of missions. Chemistry comes into play in the two highest levels, routine and priority missions. You can only do 1 priority mission each week. If there is none under mission affinity when you click on a mission the chemistry does what it says, 10% chance of this if that occurs, 30% chance of something is another thing ...(You'll unlock this on your primary Job.) Pick up the quest "Squadron and Commander" from your local Personnel Officer. You'll then have to recruit some Squadron members and deploy them on missions to get them up to the dungeon levels. No other composition allowed. I heard if you play as tank/healer, 2 archer give the best clear time. If you play as dps/healer, gladiator seems better for tank since marauder aoe enmity attack is overpower which in a cone shape area and can miss some mob compated ... Alchemy Is A Harness. They can add them to Trusts so that the Scions won't have plot armour. They pretty much are useless for leveling once all your jobs are past 60 but they are good for the buffs that others previously mentioned. I use mine to farm the MGP buff.
With the glamour system added to the Squadron, we can finally see what these masked NPCs look like underneath. I'm missing Seserikku (snowman male lala) as well as Crilde (reindeer female elezen, but her outfit just hides her hair, not her entire head like Cilia, Dolfin, and Seserikku). For those of you who pick your squadron based off of looks ...I've been trying out command missions for a bit as a DPS, and the AI of the tank is absolutely horrible, almost never uses aoe and only grabs aggro on loose mobs one by one every 10 seconds. Stats aren't effected by race or by being a unique unit. Stats are ONLY effected by the unit's class and level. The only thing you may want to keep an eye out for is the 6 unique recruits which have a set appearance that does not change as they level up.
